Description

The LaserWriter IIg used a Motorola 68030 processor running at 25MHz.  It had the upgraded PostScript Version 2 as well as PCL4+.  It could produce eight pages a minute with a DPI of 300.  The 2MB RAM was expandable to 32MB.

Communication with the LaserWriter could be through LocalTalk, the serial port or Ethernet.

History

The LaserWriter IIg was the first Apple printer to be shipped with an Ethernet port, making it the first true Apple network printer.  The fast processor and expandable RAM made this the top-of-the-line LaserWriter of its time.
